A University of Oregon graduating senior was sentenced Monday to nearly three years in prison for a drunken driving incident that killed a fellow UO senior as he cycled in a bike lane along East 11th Avenue last November.
Patrick Joseph Compton, 22, also had his driving privileges revoked for life after pleading guilty to criminally negligent homicide as well as driving under the influence of alcohol in the death of Craig Macfie of Scotland.
